Man Butchers Friend In Akwa Ibom

Residents of Itu Road, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Wednesday, woke to a horror sight, following the murder of a middle-aged barber by a close family friend and supposed boss.

Steven Onowa, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic Oko, from Anambra State, was later arrested by men of the Akwa Ibom State police command over the murder of Daniel Bassey Solomon, his close friend and barbing salon employee.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that Onowa, who tried to escape after allegedly butchering his friend and dismembering him, was arrested with the aid of a GSM tracking device employed by officers and men of the Force.

10-Year-Old Boy Buried Alive, Rescued 3 Days After In Enugu

Woman Accused Of Witchcraft Axed To Death In Papua New Guinea – Missionary

Police in Papua New Guinea vowed to find the men who axed to death a woman accused of using witchcraft to spark a measles outbreak in the country’s remote jungle highlands, a missionary said on Wednesday after meeting authorities. Reuters was there:

The woman, Mifila, was one of four women accused with 13 of their family members of using sorcery to cause measles deaths last November in the village of Fiyawena, in Enga province, said Lutheran missionary Anton Lutz.
Women are often accused and killed in witch hunts even though laws passed in 2013 make revenge killings over black magic punishable by death. Human Rights Watch earlier this year named Papua New Guinea as one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a woman due to gender based violence.

Chinese Doctors Save Man’s Severed Hand By Attaching It To His Leg [PHOTO]

Chinese surgeons recently performed a bizarre surgery in order to save a man’s severed hand. They grafted it on to his ankle for a month, before reattaching it to his arm! The innovative surgery was carried out on factory worker Zhou, from Changsha, China’s Hunan province. Zhou’s left hand was accidentally severed from his arm during an accident involving a spinning blade machine. He was immediately rushed to Xiangya Hospital, where Dr. Tang Juyu and his team realised that the damaged nerves and tendons needed time to heal. If they tried to attach the hand to his arm immediately, its cells would die from lack of blood supply. Read more from Scoop:

“Under normal temperatures, a severed finger needs to resume blood supply within 10 hours, but that time is even shorter for a separated limb,” Tang explained. “If a limb is short of blood for too long, its tissues die and it will be unsalvageable.”

A video posted on Thursday shows a woman deliver her own baby in the passenger seat of a car on the way to a Houston birthing center.

A man, believed to be her husband and father of the child, filmed the birth as he drove. The 10lb baby boy is the couple’s third child, following two daughters, aged 2and 1.

25-year-old cat makes mystery journey from Australia to Northern Ireland

 

A 25-year-old cat apparently made an incredible 12,000 mile journey from Australia to Northern Ireland.

An animal welfare organization is looking for the owners of the ginger-colored cat, who was found by Cat Protection in County Armagh last week. The Belfast Telegraph was taken to a veterinarian, who discovered that the feline had been fitted with a microchip in Australia.

A  Kenyan woman, 20, has confessed to killing three children, one of them her one-week old son whom she removed his intestines and ate them raw, Nairobi News reports.

The woman who lives in Korogocho, a slum in Nairobi, is said to have slit open her week-old son’s stomach, removed his intestines and ate them before going to her friend’s house and killing two other children.
